Hand-carved monkey ring in 18K gold-plated silver 925 with a rough-cut opaque ruby — a sculptural animal ring with character, history, and a touch of mischief.
In 17th-century France, it was not uncommon for aristocrats to keep monkeys as pets — symbols of wit, curiosity, and social theatre. This ring draws from that tradition, capturing a moment of playful theft: a monkey caught mid-act, clutching its precious ruby with both hands.
The rough-cut ruby sits unpolished and raw — deliberately so. Its opacity and natural texture contrast with the refined gold surface, giving the piece an air of irreverence and intimacy.
Each detail — the expression of the face, the grip of the hands, the texture of the fur — is hand-carved with precision and personality.
Hand-sculpted one by one in our Montmartre atelier, a sculptural artisan piece with a strong presence, a wearable work of art for everyday life.
